Business Development Manager

About Extracellular

Extracellular is Europe’s leading cell CDMO for cosmetics and food industry including the cultivated meat and cellular agriculture industry. With world-class bioprocessing infrastructure, cutting-edge facilities and a growing portfolio of global clients, we help next-generation food and cosmetics innovators scale from concept to commercial success.

Having built a reputation as a trusted partner for cultivated meat R&D and scale-up, we’re now expanding our reach into cell-based cosmetics, functional ingredients, and alternative food applications. These are sectors where cellular technology is no longer science fiction — it’s a new supply chain. And we’re helping build it.

The Role

We’re looking for a commercially sharp, technically fluent Business Development Manager to lead sales development and deal-closing activities across our cosmetics and non-meat novel foods verticals.

This is a strategic yet hands-on role. You’ll own warm leads, client conversations, and opportunity nurturing — and turn them into signed contracts. You’ll work closely with our CEO, technical leads, and marketing to shape go-to-market messaging and pricing and will be responsible for building and converting a high-quality sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end commercial process from lead to close for cosmetics and novel food clients
  • Engage with potential customers to understand their product, scale-up, or innovation challenges
  • Tailor proposals and pricing strategies with internal stakeholders
  • Negotiate terms and close commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with delivery capacity and strategic goals
  • Develop account relationships to encourage repeat business and long-term partnerships
  • Track activity, pipeline and performance metrics using CRM systems
  • Provide commercial input into product/service development and marketing strategy

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in technical B2B sales, ideally in biotech, CDMO, specialty ingredients, cosmetics, or food innovation
  • Strong understanding of the cosmetics or alternative food ingredient markets
  • Proven ability to close mid-to-high-value deals in a consultative sales environment
  • Comfortable engaging with scientists, innovation leads, and commercial stakeholders alike
  • Confident self-starter who can build credibility fast and manage deals independently
  • Experience with CRM tools and pipeline tracking
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and proposal-writing skills

Why Join Us?

  • Help shape the future of sustainable and cell-based innovation
  • Join a high-growth, mission-led team at the forefront of cellular scale-up
  • Competitive base salary, performance-linked cash bonus and share options
  • Hybrid working model with HQ in Bristol
  • Opportunities for growth and progression as the commercial function scales
