Fios Genomics – Relationship length 2015 – Present
Fios is a Bioinformatics Contract Research Organisation based in Edinburgh. We engaged with them through Sarah Lynagh, the CEO of the business in 2015.

The Purpose of our Engagement
Business Development Activity had largely been successfully executed through the CEO so an expansion of the BD team would facilitate the CEO’s value add in broader business operations that had become pressing as the organisation grew.


Assignments and Projects
Our initial brief was to appoint a Senior Business Development Manager technically able to sell the concept of outsourced bioinformatics research projects in the US. The assignment was successfully delivered and led to the long-term engagement of Kleboe Jardine to deliver in areas such as Bioinformaticians / Senior Bioinformaticians / Project Managers / Marketing / Dev Ops and several further Business Development roles.

Staff numbers have grown from 8 to 55 with revenue growth to match. The business is now operating a joint venture with Charles River Laboratories.

Roslin CT – Relationship length 2014 – Present
RoslinCT were spun out of Edinburgh University as a not-for-profit Contract Research, Development & Manufacturing Organisation based in the Bio-Quarter in Edinburgh. They were set up in 2007 and became a for-profit limited liability company in 2016. The company split in 2016 with the Contract Research Organisation becoming Censo Ltd and the CDMO organisation becoming RoslinCT.

RoslinCT was led between 2016 and 2022 by the CEO, Janet Downie. She now sits on the board as a non-executive Director.

The Purpose of our Engagement
In 2014 Kleboe Jardine was appointed to significantly increase the productive capability of the organisation through the appointment of an Operations Manager reporting to the COO (at that time, Janet Downie).


Assignments & Projects
As a result of a very successful exercise in appointing a transformative Operations Manager Kleboe Jardine became a trusted go to, search and growth partner delivering on Executive roles in Business Development, Quality, Legal Counsel, COO, CFO, Operations Leadership and Supply Chain.

We also brought our search skills to bear on technically challenging staff roles in Production, Quality, validation, supply chain and marketing.

RoslinCT has grown from 22 people in 2016 to a current staff complement in excess of 200. Kleboe Jardine has played a significant and central part in that growth and the very successful sale in late 2021 of the business to GHO Capital.

FlexMedical Solutions Ltd 2018 – Present
FlexMedical Solutions are a Contract Design and Manufacturing Operation (CDMO) based in Livingston established in 2015. The company has grown from around 6 individuals at the time of our engagement to 60 currently experiencing growth of 200% from 2020 to 2022.

The company is led by Kevin Fallon CEO, Murray Whyte CTO and Donogh Fitzgerald CSO.

The purpose of our engagement
Appointed in 2018, we were engaged to begin the process of hiring uniquely talented individuals, capable of operating in a smaller business with more limited resources but also capable of handling the challenge of a fast-growing organisation that was about to scale. An initial hire established our credentials as a highly effective recruiting partner, and we subsequently engaged as a sole supplier.


Assignments and Projects
We have recruited across the entire staffing function filling posts from Development Engineers, Scientists and Senior Scientists, Operations Manager, Human Resources Manager, Validation Engineer, Manufacturing Engineers, NPI Scientists, Technicians, Supply Chain Manager and Supply Chain Consultant.

FlexMedical Solutions has grown quickly and efficiently, typically within well-defined budgets and salary bandings. It’s a highly profitable and extremely well managed business that is also a very reputable employer in a very competitive market. We have overcome staff resource growth constraints with a mix of energy, passion, engagement, advice and ultimately sound judgement in our approach. The business continues to go from strength to strength and the next growth chapter looks equally as exciting as the last.

Mirador Analytics (Now part of Datavant) January 2018 – Present
Mirador is a privacy specialist in Healthcare Data Science, a very fast-growing sector utilising a range of rare skill sets to deliver data anonymisation solutions in particular to the North American Healthcare Sector. We engaged when the staff group numbered 6 and have been instrumental in the growth of the business since early 2018. The company now has a staff of 55 and has recently very successfully merged with Datavant.

The Purpose of our Engagement
In January 2018 we met with the CEO of Mirador Analytics (Jamie Blackport) to discuss the ambitious plans for growth the company had. The company had been started in late 2015 and a number of opportunities had presented themselves that Mirador Analytics could explore with the organisation settling on data privacy. We were appointed to support this journey on an exclusive basis. Our methodologies and capabilities convinced the company that it had the right partner in Kleboe Jardine, to grow.


Assignments & Projects
We began our relationship by hiring a Data Scientist and following the success of that we built out the business through hiring the current Chief Data Scientist, Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, the current Director of Project Management, Data Scientists, Senior Data Scientists, Data Quality Analysts, IT Support Specialists, Marketing Specialist, Proof-readers and Finance Manager. These roles have often been hired in multiples to meet the demand in the market.

Mirador is an amazing success story for the thriving data science market in Scotland and we are proud to have played a significant role in the engagement and hiring of individuals who are the bedrock of that growth and success. With the recent merger, Mirador’s story moves to a new and exciting phase and we look forward to playing our part in it.

Optima Partners – January 2022 – Present
Optima Partners is a customer strategy and engagement consultancy focused on experience and innovation and Business Design and Change. A major opportunity in lifescience surfaced in the market and following the appointment of Chris Foley as Chief Data Scientist the build out of an effective function was on.

Alan Crawley the CEO of Optima Partners contacted Kleboe Jardine specifically because of our perceived strength in Healthcare Data. Alan quickly tasked the Kleboe Jardine team with building out the Data Science function specifically to address the emerging opportunities being rapidly created by Optima. The company has grown by 47% in the last year appointing 2 highly specialised Data Scientists at Lead and Senior Levels and 3 Data Engineers at Senior and Lead levels specifically addressing the Healthcare market. .


The purpose of our engagement
Optima partners had been unable to find a search partner able to identify and engage the specialised individuals relevant to the task in hand. Following a meeting Kleboe Jardine were appointed to search for individuals with the capability to deliver and unlock the growth opportunities presented.

Assignments and Projects
To date Kleboe Jardine have delivered on all 5 initial assignments, establishing the core team. Our work has enabled phenomenal progress and underpins the growth plans the business has. It’s a great start and we take great satisfaction in the part we’ve played to date. We look forward to continuing our partnership and delivering key individuals who’ll deliver a hugely successful future.

NiTech Solutions Sept 2018 – Present
NiTech Solutions is a is a leading authority and expert on continuous processing. Its unique patented reactors and crystallizers are transforming the manufacture of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, and biotechnology. The company has been established since 2003 and operated on a relatively dormant basis until 2018 brought an opportunity to spur the development of the market. Dr Will Davies contacted Kleboe Jardine to enquire about our capabilities in both Engineering and Commercial functions.

The Purpose of our Engagement
NiTech have some great technology with applications across a variety of industries and needed to create an engineering structure that had a client facing capability as well as a strong commercial function to begin the task of acquiring customers across the globe. We have taken on the role of Search Partner and delivered on each brief. Feedback from the company is extremely positive with our appointees being regarded as entirely central to the success of the business.

From two active employees in 2018 the company has grown to a staff complement of 15 and continues to find success in new markets and with global customers.
